Between the Great Wars, the Scottish Colourists “discovered” Crail and its picturesque harbour. Ever since then, this little fishing community has attracted budding and professional artists ready to capture the atmosphere of the place in their chosen medium.
And so it continues. Every year, Crail Festival holds its Art and Crafts Exhibition in the Town Hall in July, when local artists, professional and amateur alike exhibit together in celebration of their particular art, be it fine or applied. On a visit, you will see the products of their chosen area of activity in painting, ceramics, textiles and more.
Many items are for sale, so bring your cheque books. A percentage of sale proceeds will go to Crail Festival Society, a worthy charity.
